Wait List? What is it and what does it mean?

Most property management companies require a minimum of a 30 day notice with a more common 60 day notice for current tenants to put in their notice to move out. The result is that property management companies do not typically know more than 60 days in advance what availability will be. So if it is February, and you are looking to move in May or June, you may not find many options until March or April. This can make searching for rentals frustrating.

Many property management companies have what is called a “wait list”. This means that you can contact them to be added to a wait list in which they will take down information of what you are looking for: monthly rent amount, amenities, move date, etc. and then they will contact you when one becomes available.
